Brad Zangs – Revolution Hockey Coach

Brad Zangs A native of Rosemount, Minnesota, Zangs brings with him over twenty years of coaching experience. His most recent stop was in Watertown, New York coaching the Privateers (FHL) for the 2013-14 season.

The former head coach of the Yellowstone Quake (AWHL) led his team to a second place finish with 42 wins in 2013-2014. In the past two years Zangs has put 5 players into the Major Junior level; 2 in the WHL, 2 in the OHL and 1 in the QMJHL.

Before a move to Yellowstone, Zangs was the General Manager and Head Coach of the Sioux Lookout Flyers. A team he led to a franchise best season in 2011-2012. Prior to his time with the Sioux Lookout, he was the head coach of the Albert Lea Thunder (NAHL) for the 2010-11 campaign. He has also coached the Northwest Knights (SIJHL) and the Butte Irish (NAHL). While coaching in the NAHL, six of his players received NCAA Division 1 scholarships and several more advanced to NCAA Division 3 teams. As Zangs was introduced as the head coach for the 2008-09 season for the Lake Erie Vikings in the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League.

He was also on the coaching staffs at Iowa State University, where the Cyclones won an American Collegiate Hockey Association national championship, as well as Hamline University and Northland College.

Zangs has coached over 40 players that have played at the Division I level; he’s also been part of winning three national titles. Over his career, Zangs has coached 15 players who were later drafted in the NHL Entry Draft and seven players who are now playing in the NHL.
